VMS Foundation -Southport and Burleigh Rd
June 2, 2018 9:00 amAEI is currently installing our largest and most complex VMS foundation to date. This project was very challenging with the water table at 2m along the Gold Coast canals requiring our engineering team to design and install a unique solution for the foundations. The foundation design consists of a 13m pile liner, ragbolt and 13m cage assembly with a 2.9m x 2.9m x 1m pile cap, piled into the soft sand.
Equipment on site for the night works included, Traffic Control, Lighting tower, Piling Rig, 60 Tonne Excavator to Vibrate the Pile Liner into the sand as well as a semi-trailer for transportation, an Excavator and Truck to Remove the spoil, Vac truck to remove soft wet sand, Water truck to keep the downward pressure on the water table, a crane, a boiler maker to weld the pile liners together, a Surveyor and Geo technical engineer, as well as our AEI staff, all in all a very eventful night.
